These mistakes are relatively easy to avoid, as there are several protocols and rules in place to control food transport. However, the risks of cross-contamination are very high, because food can easily reach the destination country with the help of unhygienic food handling practices, such as lack of sanitary packaging, improper washing and drying methods, and other similar factors.
Another effect of global cuisine can be the increased consumption of cheap food. With globalization comes more competition, and the demand for low-priced foods has increased. Since more people are able to afford high quality food, they prefer to have these products. Thus, the competition for markets, especially the food industry, has led to higher prices, especially for food products that are locally produced.
The food industry also faced a serious setback due to the rapid growth of the Chinese economy and industry. China has been known for its large number of restaurants, but due to the rapid growth of the Chinese economy, many Chinese restaurants have opened across the world, serving other countries’ food. This has led to the loss of quality standards for food produced in China. Although China itself has developed its own domestic production process to produce food which meets local food processing requirements, its imported food products are of low quality. Most of these products are not safe enough for consumption or have been found to be contaminated with bacteria and other hazardous substances.
As globalization affects the food industry, many experts and researchers are working hard to improve this aspect. In recent years, international cuisine has been defined more as a mixture of different countries’ food products, with their own individual culture, traditions, and cuisines. Food from around the world is now being introduced and consumed in different regions in a way that promotes a harmonious mixture, rather than causing disharmony.
